Ché is a Senior Geologist with 20 years’ experience in implementation and management of geological, geotechnical, environmental, and civil engineering contracts. He has been engaged in mining consultancy since 2005 involved with exploration programmes and supervision, mineral resource estimation and QA/QC audits, peer review, technical due diligence, scoping studies to feasibility studies, Competent Person’s Reports (CPR), and NI 43-101 Technical Reports for industrial and metalliferous minerals within Europe, Russia, Central Asia, Africa, South America and the Middle East.

Geometallurgy - Introduction to a cross-discipline approach to mineral project evaluation

Introduction to a cross-discipline approach with the objective of addressing some of the complexities associated in determining resource value by integrating geology, mining operations, mineral processing and metallurgy. Geometallurgy aims to improve the fundamental understanding of resource economics through adequate sampling, evaluation and modelling the interaction between the ore body and the processes used to extract valuable minerals - including all of the mining and processing parameters. Geometallurgy provides the opportunity for an improved basis for operational and processing plant design and a high-leverage tool that has the potential to materially improve operational performance, and thus the economic results.
