Agris is a Director for Kazakhstan, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development; Governing Board Chairman of Kazakhstan Foreign Investors’ Council Association. Since 2014, in his role of Associate Director, Regional Lead Economist based in Almaty, he engaged with governments, regulators and private sector on formulating economic policies, strategies and structural reforms. He also maintained a broader role in the venture capital and private equity sector across the entire EBRD region. Previously, Agris held a position of Senior Economist for financial, VC and PE sectors. Before EBRD, for 10 years he held a position at Oxera, a UK-based advisory firm, advising financial services firms and regulators in the UK, Europe and US. Agris holds a DPhil in Financial Economics from University of Oxford, MSc in Finance from Birkbeck College and BSc in Economics and BA from Stockholm School of Economics in Riga.
